Who Are We?

Sound of the Wood™ Audio was developed out of a life-long appreciation of music and the desire to re-create realistic, live sound using modestly priced “instruments”. Much of today’s best audio equipment can produce this level of detail and accuracy, but usually at price points prohibitive to the masses.

Does a $10,000.00 analog turntable sound better than a highly modified vintage set costing under $2,000?  The expectation is that they should, and sometimes they may sound better, but my objective on every project I undertake, is to show this axiom as flawed. As a retired Research Scientist with over twenty US and International patents, a previous owner of a 16-track analog recording studio and amateur musician, I have spent many years researching modifications to AR turntables.
